‘Support Mindanao’s Pursuit of Peace’ launched
(Mindanao Daily Mirror, 16 September 2008) The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DC-CCII) launched “Support Mindanao’s Pursuit of Peace” aimed at uniting and mobilizing the private sector and government to raise the necessary relief goods and materials to help cushion the impact of war and displacement in Central Mindanao.

In a statement, DCCCII said that the support will go to all those affected by the war including civilians, evacuees, and soldiers.
Support Mindanao can also be a potent tool in implementing programs that will help in rehabilitating war-torn areas in Mindanao, development and implementation of communications plans that will help restore the confidence of investors in Mindanao, DCCCII said.
DCCCII said it initiated the project in partnership with the government because majority of the large businesses are located in Davao City.
Aside from the civilians affected by war, the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines have needs that the private sector can provide for them to carry on with their functions of protecting the residents and the nation’s pursuit of peace in the South, DCCCII said.
