Chamber adds consultants for SMEs

(by Grace L. Plata, SunStar Davao, 31 March 2009) THE Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently accredited 12 more business consultants for its SME Center who will assist those who want to put up small businesses.

This brings to 29 the number of consultants helping small businessmen at the center.

"We are continuing business consultants accreditation so that people can get advise from those who are qualified and experienced," DCCI president Simeon Marfori said as part of his report during DCCI's general assembly Friday night at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.

Marfori said the consultants can give advice from the initial paperwork to the necessary training.

All these at "missionary costs" as it is the policy of chamber to help starting small to medium enterprises.

Marfori said that at present, there are 20 trainings that the SME Center is offering, but added they will double these activities this year.

The trainings include basics in business as well as livelihood and skills seminars.
