Chamber to hold biz trainings during trade expo
(Sun.Star Davao, 14 October 2008) THE Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) will conduct trainings and seminars on five themes that constantly affect the business world, timed for the staging of this year's edition of the Davao Trade Expo (Date) 2008 to be held at the Davao Convention and Trade Center on Ocotber 23-25.
These seminars, according to Sun.Star General Manager Joseph Griño, Committee Chair of the DATE trainings,
will give focus on the following themes: customer service, finance,
entrepreneurship, human resource management, and marketing.
Griño said in Monday's edition of the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City
Davao that these four seminars lined-up during the event will be
conducted by experts and reputable speakers.
"The chamber is exhausting all efforts to make Davao Trade Expo
2008 productive and constructive. And these trainings are very
important to make entrepreneurs updated with information," Griño said.
He said on the first day of the Date 2008, a seminar entitled "The
Influence of the Macro-Cultural Environment to a Marketing Strategy"
will have Freddie Serapio, a professor and marketing program director
of school of business and governance at the Ateneo de Davao University,
as resource speaker.
Other seminars scheduled are the "Effective Customer Service in the
Corporate World", with Newell Cubacb, the pit manager of Casino
Filipino and expert in the field of customer service, as resource
speaker.
"Taking Care of People for Competitive Advantage", to be presented
by Dr. Myrna Viado, the Human Resource Department head of One Network
Bank; and a seminar on "Creating Sustainable Competitive Advantage
Through Co-Creation", to be conducted by Edwin Loma, the director of
Corporate Communications at the Asian Pacific College.
Griño said that the first seminar will basically tackle the
different strategies in handling marketing dilemmas into center stage.
He further said that the second training includes "innovations and
strategies in giving customers a renewed sense of how it is to be
served with a silver platter".
On the other hand, Griño disclosed that entrepreneurs will be able
to get the best out of human capital, which is often neglected by most
companies through the third training, while the last seminar will give
the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) more information on the
dynamics of building a strong business while being equipped with the
right technological tools.
Each training shall be charged with a minimum rate of P500 for
DCCCII members, P550 for non-members, and a substantial rate of P350
for faculty and students. JGRS
