DCCCII turns over donations for conflict-affected families
(The Mindanao Daily Mirror, 01 October 2008) The Support Mindanao’s Pursuit for Peace project of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) headed by Simeon Marfori 11 turned over 42 sacks of rice, assorted canned goods, coffee and noodles to the 6th Infantry Division to help conflict-affected families in Sarangani Province and Central Mindanao.
Task Force Davao (TFD) commander Colonel Oscar Lactao, turned-over the donations to 602nd Deputy Brigade commander Col Cesar Dionisio Sedilo Jr. of the 6th Infantry Division in simple rites yesterday at the TFD headquarters.
Support Mindanao’s Pursuit for Peace was launched on September 15, 2008.
The project is aimed at mobilizing the private sector to raise relief goods to help cushion the impact of war and displacement of the evacuees, and the soldiers in Mindnao’s conflict-ridden areas.
Donors include Jay Bacadiong of NCCC, LTFRB-BUS & Taxi operators of Davao City, and Mr. & Mrs. Evangelista of John Paul College of Davao.
