Four dads attend training to strengthen ties with LGUs and private sector
(Sun.Star Davao, 05 September 2008) FOUR Davao City councilors took part in a training program aimed to strengthen partnerships between the local government and the private sector.
Councilor Peter Laviña, chair of the City Council Committee on Trade, Commerce & Industry, led the City Council group to meet with officials of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc. in the seminar supported by the Philippine-Australia Human Resource Development Facility held at the Pearl Farm Resort from Sept 4 to 5.
With Laviña are: Councilors Susabel Reta, Teresita Mata-Marañon and Conde Baluran, chair of the City Council committees on Tourism; ICT; and Agriculture and Food Security, respectively.
"Tourism, ICT and agribusiness is the top three priorities of the Chamber, " Laviña said.
Marañon, on the other hand, said the specific purpose of the trainings are to improve individual competencies as well as the capacity of the different sectors.
"This will consequently improve Davao City's economic and social landscape which will benefit the people," Marañon said.
