Chamber meet to tackle Anti-Red Tape Act

(Press Release) Republic Act 9485, entitled "An Act to Improve Efficiency in the Delivery of Government Services to the Public by Reducing Bureaucratic Red Tape, Preventing Graft and Corruption and Providing Penalties Thereof" otherwise known as the "Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007" or ARTA is a concrete solution which aims to curb graft and corruption and malpractices and improve the delivery of services to the public, particularly the frontline services in any branches of government.

Bureaucratic Red Tape has long been seen as burdensome and counterproductive. It has been on top of the list of many studies as a major factor which discourages new businesses to set-up shop in the city. There have been too many instances wherein the “unfriendly” bureaucracy caused the relocation of major local and foreign investments in other parts of the country and abroad.

In the interest of informing the business community and the general public on the ARTA, the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) has invited Civil Service Commission (CSC XI) Regional Director Annabelle B. Rosel to talk about our basic rights as citizens, with particular reference to our dealings with government agencies. The 10th General Membership Meeting will be held on 30 October 2009, 11:00AM at the Ballroom B of the Apo View Hotel.

The monthly GMM provides a venue for its businessmen to be informed of the current challenges, issues and opportunities affecting the business community.
