Chamber talks a better future for Davao

(Press Release) Davao City, being the most developed metropolis in the Philippines’ South, plays host to a powerhouse agriculture industry which largely contributes to the nation’s food requirements and agriculture exports.

The City is also Mindanao’s leader in terms of the most number of advanced medical facilities, the most number of regional centers of academic excellence, the most number of tourism and tourism-related industries, and the most number of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Business Process Outsourcing operators. It is due to these distinct competitive advantages that the City has been experiencing an unprecedented surge in development, particularly in real estate, to cater to the growing needs of its increasing population.

Through the years, the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) has been a constant advocate of balanced development.

In support to this advocacy, DCCCII has invited EnP Liza Marie K. Pulumbarit-Elum, President of the Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners for its 5th General Membership Meeting on Friday, 29 May 2009;11:00AM at the Serenade Ballroom of the Grand Men Seng Hotel.

This time, the business sector will hear the views of a known Urban Planner on how the City's Land Use Plan should be crafted, particularly discussing an ideal planning framework and primary considerations given our current economic situation and role in our nation's food production.

Again, DCCCII provides a venue for its members through its regular monthly meeting to be informed of the current issues that directly and indirectly affect the business community.
